It’s no secret that the annual Flash Forward competition for emerging photographers from Canada, the UK and the US is adding a new biennial festival component, running from October 6-10. We’ve been shouting this news from the rooftops for the past year and, if you subscribe to our email newsletter, you will have heard about the excellent programming we have lined up. Full details are listed on the Flash Forward Festival website and in the printed program guide, but we wanted to tell you about some recently confirmed activities that we’re pretty excited about.

First of all, we’ve added another panel discussion to the calendar of events. Entitled, Photography in Motion, this panel discussion will be about the evolving methodologies of still photographers who are embracing aspects of motion, or film, thanks to new digital technologies at their disposal. Marta Braun will moderate Ryan Enn Hughes, Justin Broadbent and Lucas Oleniuk from 4-6 pm on Thursday, October 7.

On 10.10.10 (Sunday, October 10), the Sultan’s Tent, Café Moroc and the BerBer Lounge will transform a courtyard in Liberty Village into a Moroccan-themed party to celebrate the festival and its attendees. Mark your calendar and plan to attend!
